Dom, don't you remove the dead wood?

At 3:59, are the screws meant to be super loose? I’m building the table now but the screw is quite long and a nylock nut is used. This means the vertical part and horizontal part are very loose and wobble a lot. Is this normal? Does it stop once you put the table sections in?

Trying to put the net on and the net seems very short….like 3 inches too short. Is this right? When the net try’s to go down while opening the table it looks like it is going to break the net stays. What am I doing wrong?

Actually, no, I don't think anyone can. If they claim they can, I wouldn't believe them if I were you. There are a lot of books and websites that will suggest it goes back to Tudor times, the implication being that it is a relative of the much large shovelboard game. Or to games such as slide-thryft or slip-grote. But I don't think anyone can prove that shuffleboard is related to shove ha'penny nor that slide-thryft and slip-grote were a game like shove ha'penny but played with a different coin. These things are specious assumption, regrettably. If you base it on definite evidence, I don't think I've seen anything for Push Penny / Shove Ha'penny much earlier than early 1800s (regardless of the coin it's played with).

I saw something like this but played on ice with 2 people aiding the path of the puck as it reaches its destination by scrubbing it.

I played this once! It was fun :) I married into a Dutch family and my father in law had this out one day. He made the set himself.
